Challenge

Oi Telecom is the absolute leader in fixed telephony and convergent services in Brazil, with 60 million customers and net revenue of R$ 28 billion.

Our challenge was make it possible to offer Oi’s extensive product portfolio in an acessible way for Brazil’s 200 million inhabitants, overcoming its socioeconomic contrasts.

Extensive ethnographic research was key to understand and fix usability problems, than to define the projects main insight, the customer's flow.

Designed to take advantage of the natural flow of customers inside shopping malls, exploiting the corners and frontal faces as main attraction points.

One curious aspect of the process of this project was that each designer involved got to create their own concept, each one defending their own Kiosk to the client and my version, rooted deeply on the observation of the real relationship people have with it. From inside and outside, made mine the one chosen by the client.

 
 

 
 

solution

A Flag Ship experience democratized!
Bringing all Oi Telecom’s portifolio, usually present in a whole store, to fit in a 10m² and 6m² kiosks.

Fulfilling all requirements of exhibition, affordability, acessibility, and modularity. Allowing changes between closed and interactive display cabinets while making the Kiosk standout even in a caotic shopping environment (malls, fairs and events).

Acessibility requirements following ergonomy principles allow anyone to have a complete experience of the brand within the Kiosk. I personally followed the production together with a supplier in the South of the country to guarantee we’d have the durability and quality needed while keeping it in a tight budget. This way the project could reach all corners of Brasil.

Due to its strategic reasoning the Oi kiosk got featured at the Fuori Salone in Milan during the Design Week ‘14, and was recognized with an IDEA Brasil Award.
